The cats are afraid of the wind
Rain waits on the window
I chase my cats in dreams
They vanish when I reach
Lacan calls it desire
I forgot my voice
The walls remember me
I write
so someone can hear me
I used to believe in things
I don’t anymore
I climb the stairs
Learning we are mortal
This drug keeps me breathing
but far from immortal
