Just an Ordinary Day

Published by: Self-Publishing, 2025.

Role: Author

Just an Ordinary Day is a collection of short stories that find the absurd and poetic in life’s routine. A man whose ex-lover is a gangster, a man who becomes the manager of an automotive company even though he doesn’t know how cars work, a man stranded in a city, a woman alone on an island, an 11-year-old girl trying to start her own newspaper, a penalty from a joke centre, and, unrelated to all this, a debate about whether seals lie on their faces or on their right or left sides.

These stories use gentle humour, existential curiosity, and absurdity. They examine longing and loneliness, highlighting how everyday people quietly defy the odds in odd situations.

An Anatomy of an Oyster

Published by: Ornis Publishing, 2024.

Role: Author

The Anatomy of an Oyster is more than a short story collection—it is the story of becoming a writer. It starts with the very first story I ever wrote, a piece that most publishers might hesitate to include. But I didn’t hesitate, because writing is about evolution, transformation, and embracing every stage of the journey.

The book was published in 2024. Most of the stories were written in my twenties. Some were from the start of that decade, others from the end, and a few even from my thirties. It reflects change, a collection that captures the transition between youth and maturity because where you begin and where you arrive are never the same.

Free Associations

Published by: Ornis Publishing, 2022.

Role: Project Director and Editor

Free Associations began with a question: What if literature and psychology came together in one book? As the project director and editor, I wanted to unite eight writers. Each has their own unique voice. The first step was to pitch the idea to the publishing house, where I secured approval for the project. Next was the real challenge: choosing eight writers. These included psychologists, academics, and literary figures who would join this collective storytelling experiment. Each writer had the freedom to tell their own story.

Being an editor and project manager meant more than refining words. Every writer has a unique process. Some make a few changes, but others rely on the editor entirely. Balancing these dynamics, preserving creative integrity, and maintaining editorial structure was challenging. Editing is not just about fixing grammar or restructuring paragraphs—it is a long, evolving journey, much like a marathon. It needs patience, flexibility, and the skill to collaborate with authors over time.

A Few Little Scratches

Publisher: Ornis Publishing, 2021.

Role: Author

A Few Little Scratches is the first novel that mixes black humour and surreal absurdity. The four main characters tell the story from their perspectives. This novel mixes different storytelling styles and humour. It starts with a chance meeting of four characters on an Istanbul night, leading us into an adventure.

Writing is about the stories we tell and what they reveal over time. And every writer has a beginning. This is my first book.
